A high profile chief guest; Joe Mucheru, the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology has all but confirmed that he will be attending the 4th edition of the Nairobi Innovation Week slated for the 5th to 9th March 2018. CS Mucheru has been instrumental in the past editions of the Nairobi Innovation Week and was the guest of honour during the official opening ceremony of the NIW2017.
The CS has an impressive CV in the ICT industry from his days at Google to entrepreneurship in one of the biggest internet companies in the region to a cabinet secretary in government. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Computer Science from the City University London hence fits the bill of a high profile guest and will be giving a keynote speech at the event.
Over the years we have had a couple of high profile guests. 2016 was the epitome of this with President Kenyatta attending the fete during the opening ceremony of the event at the then newly refurbished Taifa Hall, main campus. The event has since been moved to the newly opened University of Nairobi Towers.
The organizing committee recognizes the importance of policy makers in the innovation ecosystem. We have therefore engaged the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives and Ministry of ICT as our strategic partners representing the government. African Development bank and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture represent our strategic partners from the private sector. This year we are engaging more partners as our capacity grows.
Registration for is ongoing for the sponsors, delegates and exhibitors.
